About the work

The IUCN (The World Conservation Union) compiles a so-called Red List of threatened species every 2 years. The status of thousands of plant and animal species is examined. Since the middle of the last century, the extinction of animal species has risen explosively due to habitat destruction, over-exploitation, the introduction of foreign species, diseases, pollution, and global warming. Scientists believe that half of all animals and plants will be extinct by 2100.
