About the work

In Kalimantan and Sumatra, large areas of rainforest are cut down and burned annually to create farmland for oil palm plantations. Due to the fires and the loss of habitat, many endangered species such as tigers and orangutans are dying. Of the original 16 million hectares of forest, only about 500,000 hectares remain in 2007.
